YouBar is a nearshore software agency in Temara, near Rabat. We build web applications, mobile apps and integrations for Dutch and European companies, with senior engineers who are available during your working day.
What nearshore software development is.
Nearshoring means outsourcing software development to a team in a nearby country: the same working day, a short flight and a similar way of working. The difference from offshore isn't the price but the collaboration. No 7 a.m. stand-ups, no waiting overnight for an answer.
For Dutch companies, Morocco is a natural nearshore location. The time difference is one to two hours, there are direct flights from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Brussels, and its technical universities train engineers on curricula aligned with European computer science programmes.
Why Morocco works for Dutch teams.
Most nearshore vendors serving the Netherlands are based in Eastern Europe. Morocco is less well known, but it has concrete advantages for teams working in the Netherlands.
- Timezone: since 20 September 2026 Morocco runs on GMT (UTC+0) all year. It is one hour behind the Netherlands in winter and two hours in summer. Most of your working day overlaps.
- Education: our engineers come from institutions such as ENSIAS, INPT and EMI, with a strong grounding in computer science and software engineering.
- Languages: the team works in English, speaks French fluently, and management can switch to Dutch where needed.
- Proximity: a direct flight takes about 3.5 hours. Meeting in person is a day trip, not an expedition.
- Cost: Morocco's cost base makes senior engineering affordable on budgets that quickly run tight in the Netherlands.

Our default stack is deliberately proven technology: Vue and Nuxt with TypeScript on the frontend, Laravel and Node.js on the backend, PostgreSQL or MySQL for data, and Docker with GitLab CI for deployment. For mobile apps we choose per project between a cross-platform approach and native.
